Most of the time, I share new and exciting recreational activities with the love of my life.
Anyway, I’ll show you one of our favorite activities, Firing. My Aaron always wanted to practice this sport and I also do but because of too much work and other commitments, we weren’t able to do it until last April 2009. I finally decided to accept lesser projects and give more time for myself, family and him.
When we’ve decided to finally find time to do firing, I then searched the Internet, like I always do, to find a shooting range in the Philippines. And so I found Armscor Shooting Ranges.
Armscor Shooting Ranges, Inc. is a world-class shooting facility ideally located a few minutes away from the heart of Metro Manila. It is a 100% Filipino-owned company that was incorporated in January 9, 1997. Having been accredited by the PNP as a Basic Firearms Handling Institution, its role is to impart to the citizenry the proper handling of firearms.
Recognized by the Department of Tourism as a Sports and Recreation Facility, ASRI was able to develop its clientele among various sports enthusiasts, police, military, security and regular firearms owners in the country.

This is the picture of our first firing together. This was taken last month, April. We were so thrilled and nervous at the same time. We shared over 100 rounds of ammunition. Kuya Ronny guided us during our first huddle and he made sure we handle the firearm, 9mm, securely.
He instructed us on our every move, from how to hold the gun to properly aiming for the target. We had a blast during this day and I’m so happy that we did quite good for first-timers. Even Kuya Ronny complimented both of us.
We planned to visit the range every two weeks. We came back to Armscor for the second time yesterday, May 4, 2009 to get out I.D’s and to fire as well.
During our second firing, we were assisted by Kuya Jun. I’m happy that he adjusted the target board farther than our first time but hitting the center was tougher. (just for my baboy… because he didn’t close his left eye while shooting. So engot, right?) But he said that he is going to make bawi to me next time. He said he just gave me partida. I hope you’re understanding what I’m saying here.
Anyway, enough with the “Tag-lish” (Tagalog - English) lines. I’ll just give you more details about Armscor Shooting Ranges just in case you or someone you know would like to be a member.

Hi there, i was doing a little research of the ARMSCO range (just like you did) and i came upon your site. Im hoping you could answer some of my questions. First im guessing you went to the Makati range and you got a membership there as mentioned. So even with the membership are you required to to rent guns (by paying) for shooting or u can borrow it for free? How much does it cost for the ammo? What kind of guns did they have available?
Any details you can provide shall be helpful. Thanks! Pls leave ur reply here, ill check in on your blog for it.
Hello there, well the membership was 2500 for the first as far as I can remember then it’ll be just 2000 for the following years. The ammo is 9 to 10 pesos each and you don’t need to rent a gun as they’ll provide you with it. They have 9mm, 45 and many others actually but for beginners, it’s best to use 9mm. It’s really fun and unusual.
Hope we can catch up some time.
Thanks a lot for the info. So you can use the guns available with no additional charge, dats good. Im a foreigner but have a resident visa here so im hoping they would give me the resident rate membership.
9mm and .45 cal would be handguns. Do they have any rifles at the makati range? I have military experience so I prefer rifles more.
Thanks again
Hello there, so you’re a foreigner…
Well, they do have something for foreigners but it’s a lot more expensive. $200 USD annually but if you’re a resident of the Philippines, then you’re eligible for the 2,500 php per year deal. How many years have you been here in the Phil?
A couple of years now
Ya i know about the different memberships as I have checked their site. A couple of more questions, sorry for the trouble but you seem to be the most reliable source of info on this issue that I have hehe.
- If 2 people are going, then does both need to get memberships? Or one can get the membership and the other can go along as the guest? For example in your case do you and your bf both need memberships?
- Do they have rifles at the Makati range?
haha, it’s alright.
I always want to share info to other people. Me and my boyfriend are both members of Armscor. I called their office just 5 minutes ago and asked about your question. They said that I can bring with me my immediate family member but they have to rent the gun and buy ammos. Also, they do have rifles, M16.
Hope the info I got helps.
Your awesome hehe. Thanks for going to lengths by actually calling them to find me answers. Have fun shooting and follow firearms safety always
Ill drop by too for some fun hopefully.
Do you need a permit to bring your own gun to the range ?
Well, as far as I know, you always need to bring a Permit to Carry and the license of your gun. But I am not sure if Armscor is allowing although I know other shooting range allows it as long as you will abide by their requirements.
I seriously like your post. I found it very usefull. I will have to visit your website again some day.
Thank Marlin.. Keep visiting. I’ll be posting some travel posts this week.
Hi. Can I come into the range as a minor? I’m 17, and I got into shooting when I was 12, but for the past few years my dad had been too busy to take me out to the range enough, so now I’m thinking about talking him into getting me a membership at a range, so I can rent a gun and practice at least once every two weeks, probably with an instructor. I’m currently shooting 10m precision air rifle as a recruit for my college rifle pistol team, but when you shoot airguns all the time, you’ll miss the recoil and the loud BANG of firearms.
You know, I could just call Armscor and ask them, but I’m shy.
Haha, why are you shy? Just call and ask them about your questions. They always have instructors around when practicing.
San pb meron firing range maliban sa Armscor at yung sa may Manila .Yung malapit sa Caloocan..
