Before I found oDesk, I worked as a part time virtual English instructor. I taught English to Korean students of all ages ( from 4 years old to 40 years old) online. I found this kind of job at Best Jobs.ph and from there, you can review a lot more home based job opportunities that you can take advantage of.
My whole experience working for this company was absolutely great! Me and my students were really close and comfortable talking to each other. We share ideas, tell stories of our daily activities and talk about many other things that good friends would normally talk about. I got attached with them that it was so hard for me to leave and to let them go.
Here’s a picture that I have kept for a long time of one of my cute Korean students. Her name is Jane and she is so sweet and caring. That’s her pet. 
The company I worked for was Cymon Fon English. Cymon Cho is the owner of Cymon Fon English and Cymon English Institute. He runs his local academy for more than 2 years now and last December 31, 2007, he decided to create an Online English School and now he has 38 people working for him already.

Hi Rhomel, I wish I could help you with this. But my former employer already hired a call center in Makati to do the work. But I am pretty sure there are other companies out there who does the same thing. Just search for work from home jobs online. But be sure to not pay anything to apply for a job position.

Hi Micah! It was so nice to read your story about tutoring Koreans. I used to be a part time English tutor to Koreans inside SBMA. I used to worked for a Korean couple and to other Korean employers. I also tried to tutor via call center (MSY) but for 2 weeks only cause I had been sick and I had to stop tutoring. So I know how to deal with students via phone and my students were from Korea. We call them and do the tutoring on the phone. I wrote cause I was inspired by your story. I know you can’t recommend me now to your former boss cause as you’ve said he hired a call center in Makati to do that for him.
