Do you happen to know something but you just didn’t know how you know it? That might be intuition. Intuition is a gut feeling, an instinctive knowledge, an insight of things not gained by logical reasoning and rational thinking. Intuition is not magic nor a voluntary action. It does not happen by will but by chance.
According to the book “The Intuitive Edge” written by Philip Goldberg, intuition comes from the knowledge that we may have unconsciously acquired in the past or through available information learned subliminally.
Quite amazingly, intuition can help us make the right choices or decision. Sometimes we can’t explain why we did a thing then we surprisingly find out something after doing it. Strangely enough, it can give us a hunch, a warning signal or a wake-up call.

How would you know if it’s intuition and not fear, mood swings, prejudice or any other confusing feeling?
1. Assess which of your actions worked and which ones do not when you followed what you think is intuition.
2. Identify the physical symptoms. Do you suddenly have cold sweats, are you unexplainably upset, does it just pop out in your mind like a nightmare? Observe the signs when you experience that intuition is trying to tell you something very important.
3. Just try it or test it. Put yourself into a challenge as long as it would not do you any harm. Just try to listen to it once and if it turns out to be right, then that’s intuition.
4. You have no doubt about it. If you are certain that it’s intuition trying to catch your attention then trust it. Remember what our mother used to tell us, “When in doubt, don’t”. So it also means to say that if there’s none, go!
