There are a lot of websites and blogs these days, encouraging people to do PTC . PTC or paid-to-click is an online activity where you will be paid by clicking advertisement banners or links. You may earn $.001 to $.01 per click and may still earn from 30-50% of your referral’s earnings.

How do companies or entrepreneurs make money by paying people to click or view their advertisements? There are two ways in which they benefit from people doing PTCs.
One, is the potential that the viewer may buy their products or avail of their services. Second, since these advertisements are displayed on their websites, PTC will drive traffic and page views to their websites which also earns through affiliate programs with Google Adsense, Kontera, AdMob, Adbrite, Bidvertiser and many others.
How do bloggers make money by promoting PTCs? These bloggers are also doing PTCs themselves and in their blog are referral banners or links which an interested person/reader may click to join the PTC site. The reader that they have recruited/encouraged to join the PTC sites are called referrals. When these referrals register and start to click ads, the blogger who promoted the PTC sites also earns a portion of their referral’s earnings. The referrals on the other hand may do the same. They may encourage their friends to join so that they can also earn through the PTC’s referral program.
Doing PTC is the easiest way to make money online, though it takes a lot of time and patience to earn a decent amount to pay bills. The secret to earn more through these PTCs is to get as many referrals as you can and/or use your credits to rent a referral on the site. You may also upgrade your membership to have a higher click value or to have more ads to click/view.
Just that there are many “scum” PTC sites nowadays, promising a lot of available ads and higher click value. You don’t want to waste your time and effort so here’s a few guide on how you can check if the PTC site is legitimate or not.
1. The site is asking for a membership fee.
2. No FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) link provided.
3. No response to “contact us”.
4. No contact particulars provided on the site.
You may also Google search the name of the site, if there are blogs saying that they have been a victim of their site, it should stop you from there.
