One-way links & Reciprocal links

In SEO, there’s a battle whether which of the two, one way linking or reciprocal linking is a better link building strategy for an SEO campaign. There are various opinions that you can find on the Web regarding this but to keep you well-aware, let me briefly discuss a one-way link and a two-way link and how they help in Search Engine Optimization.

linksOne-way links

One-Way links (inbound links) refer to the pages linking to your site. Having huge amount of one-way links will increase your website’s link popularity and you can also receive direct traffic to your site from people who click on the links. Relevancy is one big important factor in acquiring one-way links. Your inbound links must be relevant to your website to make it appear more natural to search engines. The idea behind one-way links is that, search engines will think that your site is important on the Web if there are many other relevant websites linking to you.

Two-Way links or Reciprocal Links

In two-way linking, there is a mutual agreement between 2 websites that they’d put each other’s links somewhere on their websites.  Some say that it is an obsolete strategy that should not be given any importance but I beg to disagree.  Building inbound links through reciprocal link exchanges is a simple yet very powerful website promotional tool. The more links you get from relevant websites, the better the search engines will perceive you.
