I don’t know why in these modern times, there are still people who treat gay men indifferently. Perhaps because some of them act in a disrespectful or disgraceful way, but let us not generalize them all. Some of them are useful members of the society, giving pride and honor to our country.

1. The Showy Type - the one who dresses and acts like a real woman; natural and open
2. The Decent Type - the one who dresses like a man but acts like a real woman; somehow reserved
3. The Closet Type - the one who dresses and acts like a man but thinks like a real woman; in denial
Some of them can be quiet irritating but some can even be your best friend. Know how?
Gay men have this “pusong babae” or feminine heart. This is associated with showing of compassion and empathy, virtues which are not eminent in straight men. Hence, gay men can give you comfort and emotional support in times of distress.
Gay men have an eye for beauty and arts. They can give us the best beauty and fashion advice which helps us enhance our personality. They can be of good help when you need suggestions on how to rearrange or redecorate your place.
Gay men are good shopping buddies. Straight men don’t have the patience to accompany a woman or someone else’s shopping. Gay men can be blunt and practical. They can tell you honestly if an item looks horrible on you or if it’s too expensive to buy. While straight men can be tolerant and are afraid to offend a woman’s feelings.
Gay men are fun to be with. Gay, as the term itself means happy or merry. They are actually not the serious-type of person. They can make you laugh about their “out of this world” sense of humor.
Whether you love them or hate them, just let them be. No one has the right to discriminate them because of their sexual preference. They are human too with civil rights. So befriend them or not, the least you could do is just to be civil.
